Abstract

Recent scholar literature has allowed discussing social background and ideological tendencies among Nationalist argentine groups between Uriburu's coup d'état and Peron's rising. Some authors have seen a "social turn" or a "plebeian turn" of Nationalists expressed in an alleged reject of their originally anti-popular and oligarchic ideas, as much as the adoption of an enthusiastic anti-imperialism. This article intends to discuss this last idea, showing which were some of the Nationalist ideas and practices toward the so-called "cuestión indígena", especially toward the aboriginal communities located in Pampa and Patagonia regions. An effort is made here to explore the motivations of these new nationalist writers and militants' approach, produced within the frame of a more global anti-liberal reinterpretation of Argentina's cultgure and history.
