Cuando Buenos Aires se quedó sin diarios: Los conflictos de 1919 en la prensa gráfica argentina
Main Article Content
Abstract
About the middle of 1919, Buenos Aires city was touched by successive strikes of newspaper's workers and journalists, and by a widespread employers' lock-out. That crisis led to an unknown situation: for a fortnight, Buenos Aires' citizens were deprived of the access to newspapers. This paper sketches the general outlook of Buenos Aires press during that critical situation, and examines the motives and demands of workers, journalists and employers of that sector, their strategies of action, and the conflict's consequences in the field of sectorial organization.
