This article is part of a research that had as an aim to investigate the perspectives and experiences that the academic groups of Sciences of Education of the National University of La Plata developed with relation to the policy of university normalization between 1983 and 1986 in order to legitimize their position and to orientate the reform of the programme of studies of their career. Regulations, preliminary designs and programmes of studies, documents and institutional publications, and semistructured interviews were analyzed using a methodological qualitative design. As a result, it was possible to describe the characteristics that the university normalization assumed in the studied case, the elements of continuity and break that were registered in the institutional dynamics with reference to the period of military dictatorship and the social configuration of the academic groups of Sciences of Education that rejoined to university life. The approval of the new programme of studies made evident the social efficiency of a plot of links of diverse content - academic, professional, political, personalized - in the positions of the agents in the university government and, in consequence, in the definition of the curricular reform
